  - What does the story tell us about what the Greeks thought of themselves
- Anatolia is the name Turkey used to have. The King of Troy was Prium. His son was Paris who came to meet with Greek kings and they decided to meet at a wedding between a mortal man. The goddess not invited was Discordia. She always caused problems. She sent an apple to the wedding that said to the fairest, and when it arrived it was decided one of the men would decide who received the apple. Paris chose who got it. Paris gave it to Aphrodite. He made a fateful mistake because he wanted Helen as his wife. She was already married to Menalais. Paris took Helen away and they ran off to Troy. A fleet of 10,000 ships was assembled. They attacKed Troy and the war lasted for 10 years. A general came up with a plan to make a giant horse as an offering to the gods. They got in their ships and hid. The Trojans brought the horse inside the city walls and had a party. Then Greek people in the horse slaughtered the people of Troy and burned it.
